SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Spokane Valley officials announced Monday two area pools will be closed through August 28.
Officials said the Park Road Pool and Terrace View Pool will be closed August 25 through August 28 because of the poor air quality.
"We care about the health of our community members," said Spokane Valley Parks & Recreation Director Mike Stone. "By closing the pools until air quality improves, we are supporting the recommendation by the Spokane Regional Health District to limit outdoor activity."
Staff will continue monitoring air quality reports. They hope to reopen Park Road Pool and Valley Mission Pool for the weekend of August 29 and 30 and Labor Day weekend September 5 through 7 is the air quality improves.
