Spokane Regional Health District opens new location for opioid treatment

SRHD's Opioid Treatment Program helps adults struggling with addiction to drugs such as fentanyl, heroin, morphine, hydrocodone and oxycodone.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Officials with the Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD) have announced its opioid treatment program they say will "curb the negative, community-wide effects of opioid dependency" has a new location.

The new location is located at 312 W. 8th Avenue in Spokane. It is not yet operational, but SRHD's campus located at 1101 W. College Ave is open.

SRHD's Opioid Treatment Program will help adults struggling with addiction to opioids, including fentanyl, heroin, morphine, hydrocodone and oxycodone. According to officials, the program will use a 'medication-assisted approach' that will help patients experience a decrease in withdrawal symptoms and cravings.

In addition to helping its patients get off opioids, the program promotes improved work, school and family lives for those struggling with the addiction.

According to SRHD, requirements for enrollment for the program are as follows:

  • 18 years of age and older
  • Opioid dependency for at least one year
  • U.S. (state or federal) photo identification
  • No illicit benzodiazepines
