SPOKANE, Wash. — On Monday it was announced that MultiCare Valley Hospital earned an “A” Hospital Safety grade from the Leapfrog Group. The group is a national nonprofit that sets standards for excellence in patient care.
“Earning an ‘A’ grade means MultiCare Valley Hospital has made a true commitment to put patients first,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We congratulate the leadership, board, clinicians, staff and volunteers that all had a role to play in this achievement.”
Hospitals are given an A,B,C,D or F grade based on over 30 national performance measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.
“This award signifies the highest standard of achievement for patient safety in a hospital,” said Alex Jackson, MultiCare’s chief executive for the Inland Northwest region. “MultiCare Valley Hospital’s team is committed to excellence in our patient care and safety, and today’s achievement exemplifies that.”
MultiCare Valley Hospital was the only hospital in the region to receive an “A” grade from The Leapfrog Group.
