Hundreds turn out for drive-thru flu shots

SPOKANEVALLEY -- The Spokane Regional Health District held its first drive-thru flu shot clinic from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturdayat the Spokane Valley YMCA.

The clinic took vehicles with up to four people inside, all age 13 and older. Flu shots cost $10 each for adults age 19 and older. Flu shots for children, 6-months through 16-years-old,were free.

In the first hour, the health district reported they vaccinated 150 drivers and passengers. Then they administered another 250 shots within four hours.

There was alsoa walk-up clinicat the same location, 2421 N. Discovery Place, for anyone with questions or who do not want to use the drive-through.
