Look for bright yellow signs on parking meters that identify them as free spaces. More than 700 were placed throughout the city on Monday.

SPOKANE, Wash. — The City of Spokane is offering free 10-minute parking for people to pick up to-go orders from Spokane restaurants amid the statewide shutdown of restaurants and bars.

“It is a delicate balance between taking drastic social distancing measures and supporting local businesses. We hope the public will take advantage of the opportunity to #OrderUpSpokane,” said Spokane Mayor Nadine Woodward in a press release.
