City of Medical Lake says water safe after E. coli scare

MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. — Water re-samples taken in the northwest portion of Medical Lake came back negative for E. coli bacteria, city officials said on Thursday.

A notice on the city's website on says that water in the city is safe to consume. 

On Wednesday, the city posted a notice online that said water samples in the northwest section of the city came back positive for the bacteria. 

City officials originally said the bacteria impacted 133 homes and/or business located in the area south of Brooks Road, west of Lefevre Street and north of Lake Street.

Everyone in that area was advised to drink bottled water or boil their water before ingesting it until further notice.
