LOLO, Mont. — A wildfire in West Montana, 10 miles South of Lolo, has grown to be more than 30,000 acres in size.
Fire officials are calling the wildfire the “Lolo Peak fire” and reports from InciWeb show it started because of lightning.
As of Sunday afternoon, there are a total of 927 personnel on scene, including 154 Montana National Guard soldiers providing assistance and security to evacuated areas.
Officials said the fire is still actively trying to move South.
A firefighter was injured on scene around noon Saturday. Reports show the firefighter was hit by a rock and took a fall near the ski area at McClain Creek. The firefighter sustained a broken arm and was taken to a hospital in Missoula.
