SPOKANE, Wash. — It is the 40th anniversary of The Nutcracker Ballet, presented by the Spokane Symphony and the final four performances of the season are coming up very soon.
If you are hoping to watch a classic holiday tradition play out on stage, there are just a few days left.
The story starts with a Christmas party where a young girl is given a beautiful nutcracker as a gift.
Later on in the evening the girl awakens as her nutcracker comes to life and she joins him on a magical adventure involving an army of mice, a land of snow, an enchanted forest and a Sugar Plum Fairy.
