PULLMAN, Wash. - Donors shattered Washington State University's fundraising goal for the #CougsGive125 challenge honoring the university's 125th birthday on Friday.
With gifts as small as $5 and as large as $25,000, donors raised more than $300,000 for Washington State University in their first official day of giving.
The WSU Foundation said that over 1,000 donors contributed $314,814 during #CougsGive125 which challenged supporters to give $125,000 to support WSU students, faculty, research and programs.
In addition to the $314,814 raised in #CougsGive125, an additional $1.75 million in estate and gift planning intentions were also recorded on March 27.
A broad range of programs received gifts during the fundraisers. These programs included scholarships, Cougar Athletics, and Northwest Public Radio and Television. In total, 29 different programs received gifts during the fundraising challenge.
