MOSCOW, Idaho — The University of Idaho announced that this year's freshman class is the second largest in its history.
According to the university, 1,869 new students enrolled for the 2023-2024 school year, which just trails behind last year's largest freshman class of 1,951.
"Students and their families continue to seek the value of a U of I education," U of I President Scott Green said. "This, combined with the incredible experience of our residential campus, attracts top-notch students who develop into the high-quality employees our industries deserve."
Overall enrollment for Fall 2023 is 11,849 students, which is up from 2022's 11,507 students. In addition, for the fourth year in a row, the school was ranked as the Best Value Public University in the West by the U.S. News and World Report and second in the nation behind the University of North Carolina.
