COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — North Idaho College provided an update to its Board of Trustees following the final visit from a team from the college's accreditor.
This comes following scrutiny from the accreditor surrounding board governance and the Board of Trustees itself.
The visit happened on October 14 and October 15, and the report will be released by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Once the college receives the report, it will have 10 days to respond.
The college will attend a commission meeting, which is set for January 28-31 of next year in Seattle.
"The report is not the last step," Steve Kurtz, North Idaho College Director of Planning, Strategy and Effectiveness, said. "Until the commission meeting, the college is permitted to provide updates and additional evidence to the NWCC, as there are four board meetings where we can provide evidence of best practices and board governance."
After reviewing all of the evidence and the report during the January meeting, the commission has 30 days to send a written response to North Idaho College with their decision.
