Suspect arrested after unspecified threat prompts closure of all schools in Lind-Ritzville Cooperative School District

The closure comes after the district said a school was working with local law enforcement to look into an active threat made on Snapchat.

LIND, Wash. — A 14-year-old was arrested after the Lind-Ritzville Cooperative School District closed school on Tuesday following a reported threat.

According to the Ritzville Police Department, law enforcement investigated a bomb and shooting threat made to Lind-Ritzville High School over Snapchat.

Police said the student used a teacher's name and another student's name to make the threats. Investigators discovered a list of what appeared to be targets of the suspect. Parents were notified if their child was on the list or not, according to police.

According to the Adams County Sheriff's Office, the suspect was arrested and booked into the Martin Hall Juvenile Detention Center.

The sheriff's office said a K-9 Unit swept through the school and was not able to detect any explosives at the school.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office also said there is no evidence that suggests anyone else being involved, appearing that the suspect acted alone.
