Have you ever wondered what it's like to take classes from a top university like Harvard, Yale or Princeton?
Now you can, as plenty of top universities—including Ivy League schools across the country—are offering online courses for free.
So is it legitimate?
It starts with the website ClassCentral.com, where you'll find a banner offering "Free Online Ivy League Courses."
As you scan the web page, a tab will pop up at the bottom of your screen that says, "Sign Up For Free."
From there, you'll begin the process of creating an account; you'll need only your basic information including your name, birthday, and e-mail address; no credit card information is requested.
As you continue the sign up process, you'll be directed to several long lists of possible interests, potential universities, and some of the popular classes that are being offered.
The Up With KREM team checked and several Ivy League universities are indeed available, including University of Pennsylvania, Harvard, Columbia, Yale, and Princeton.
Once you've selected some classes, and completed your profile, you'll have the opportunity to scan through even more classes offered online.
But the question remains: Is it free?
The answer: it depends.
While the course content is being offered by universities around the world, it takes specific programs and providers to bring those classes into your home and onto your computer.
So you will need to do a bit of investigation when it comes to finding a class that you're interested in.
You can check out the video attached to this story, for a few examples of how our Up With KREM team navigated a few of the courses being offered online for you right now.
