Pedestrian walking in lanes on SR-2 hit and killed by car near Fairchild Air Force Base

The pedestrian was struck in the right lane of westbound SR-2 by a Toyota Highlander driven by an 18-year-old from Medical Lake.

SPOKANE, Wash. — One person is dead after being hit on State Route 2 near Fairchild Air Force Base in Airway Heights. According to Washington State Patrol, a pedestrian was walking eastbound on SR-2 when they suddenly crossed into the westbound lanes.

The pedestrian was struck in the right lane of westbound SR-2 by a Toyota Highlander driven by an 18-year-old from Medical Lake. Both the driver and his passenger were uninjured in the crash.

WSP closed down all lanes of SR-2 to conduct their investigation, but lanes have since reopened.
