SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Detectives are looking for two women who fled after robbing and threatening to stab an employee at a Walmart on East Sprague in Spokane Valley.
The robbery happened April 9, but new security camera footage is being used to help investigators. Officials said an employee first saw the two women at a self-scan register attempting to bag items without scanning them properly. The register caught the mistake and locked the register, requiring employee assistance. The women then placed the items back in their cart and said they wanted to continue shopping.
When one of the females approached a check stand and began bagging her items without paying for them, authorities said the woman told an employee she would stab them in the neck if she said anything. Fearing for her safety, the employee did not approach the suspect.
The two women fled in a silver 4-door car, possibly an early 2000s Chevrolet Malibu.
Spokane Valley detectives are asking the public to contact Detective Darin Stanley if they recognize the women or have any additional information on the robbery. You can contact Detective Stanley at 509-477-3160.
