YAKIMA, Wash. — Two young men were killed in a shooting in Yakima, Washington, over the weekend.
According to the Yakima Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting at the parking lot of Safeway on West Nob Hill Boulevard Saturday night, November 9, at around 6:40 p.m.
Arriving officers found two young men with gunshot wounds in the parking lot. First responders attempted to provide aid, but one victim, a 19-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other victim, a 20-year-old man, later died at the hospital.
Officers found a suspect vehicle near South 3rd Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard. The suspect vehicle tried to get away from police, stopping near 36th Avenue and Yakima Avenue.
Police also said two people were inside the suspect vehicle, both of whom also had gunshot wounds. Both people were taken to the hospital, and officers developed probable cause to arrest the two suspects on multiple charges, including homicide.
Yakima Police said the identities of the two arrested suspects are being withheld at this time.
