POST FALLS, Idaho — A teenager riding his bike to school was hit by a car in Post Falls on Tuesday.
According to the Post Falls Police Department, a 15-year-old boy was riding his bike on his way to Post Falls High School when he was hit by an SUV.
Police said the student was using the crosswalk at Cecil and Poleline when the teenager was hit.
The police department said the teenager was taken to the hospital. The teenager sustained minor injuries and was later released.
Post Falls Police said the driver who hit the teenager was issued a citation.
Police want to remind pedestrians to use crosswalks and activate the crosswalk lights when available, watch out for oncoming traffic, be observant and cross when traffic permits. Bike riders are also encouraged to wear helmets.
