SPOKANE, Wash. — A Spokane teen is in jail after he reportedly hit a mother and her two small children with his car before driving away.
Eighteen-year-old Owen Neeson-Graham was arrested on Wednesday and charged with felony hit-and-run and vehicular assault. The teen is accused of hitting a mother, her toddler and a baby in a stroller at a crosswalk on North Division Street last week before leaving the scene.
At approximately 7 a.m. on June 23, the Spokane Police Department (SPD) responded to Lyons Avenue and North Division Street where a vehicle reportedly hit a mom, toddler and baby in a stroller. After hitting the three pedestrians, the suspect fled the scene.
Both the mother and toddler were injured, but police say the injuries aren't life-threatening. The baby was unharmed.
The incident was captured on video by the dash camera of another vehicle, which helped SPD identify the suspect as Neeson-Graham. He was arrested on June 28 for felony hit-and-run as well as vehicular assault. He was booked into the Spokane County Jail.
Neeson-Graham appeared in Spokane County Superior Court on Thursday afternoon for the felony hit-and-run charges. Last year, he was charged with multiple assault charges, two of which involved a deadly weapon, but was released after posting a $10,000 bond.
A condition of his release for the assault charges was to not be charged with another serious crime while out on bail. Because he did, a judge set Neeson-Graham's bail at $20,000 for the assault charges and $50,000 for the hit-and-run charge. He is set to be back in court on July 11.
Even though SPD has arrested the suspected driver, the vehicle has not been located. If anyone knows where the 2005 Dodge Magnum (Washington License CHH8339) is, please call Crime Check at 509-456-2233 reference incident 2023-20122042.
