KELLOGG, Idaho — The suspect accused of murdering four of his neighbors in Kellogg has reached an agreement with the State of Idaho and will plead guilty.
According to court documents, the State of Idaho agreed to amend all four counts of first-degree murder against Majorjon Kaylor to second-degree murder. In addition, the state will dismiss the remaining count of burglary against Kaylor.
Kaylor, 31, is accused of murdering four of his neighbors on June 18, 2023. In a criminal complaint filed prior to the shooting, Kaylor's wife had posted on Facebook about an inappropriate incident involving one of the shooting victims. Kaylor's wife claimed that they had engaged in inappropriate behavior in front of her and her children.
On the day of the incident, Kaylor and his wife got into an argument with one of the victims about the alleged inappropriate incident. Moments later, the four victims were shot by Kaylor, according to the criminal complaint.
When police arrived at the scene and apprehended Kaylor, he is reported saying he "snapped," "lost it" and "did something about it."
Kaylor is expected in court on December 18 to change his plea. Kaylor's trial was set to begin in January 2024. However, because both attorneys in this case agreed to mediation, that date has been vacated.
