Suspect dead, officer stabbed following shooting at Jackpot Food Mart in Quincy

The Grant County Sheriff's Office alerted residents in the area on their Facebook page.

QUINCY, Wash. — A suspect is dead and one officer was left injured following a shooting at the Jackpot Food Mart in Quincy.

According to the Grant County Sheriff's Office,  the officer was called to the food mart on F Street Southeast around 8:30 Monday night for a disturbance in the store. While trying to contact the suspect, authorities said an officer was stabbed in the arm and shoulder. That's when one of the officers fired their weapon at the suspect, who was declared dead at the scene.

The officer's injuries are not life threatening. They're being treated at Quincy Valley Medical Center. The suspect's identity has not yet been released.
