Car fleeing police in Spokane Valley causes multi-vehicle crash, 21-year-old in coma

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — One person is in a coma and several others were injured following a crash that happened in Spokane Valley last Friday.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff's Office (SCSO), a deputy was trying to stop a black spray-painted Subaru heading east on Sprague near McDonald Avenue. SCSO said the Subaru did not have license plates and the driver was fleeing.

The deputy then advised that the driver of the Subaru ran a red light at McDonald and crashed, later catching fire.

According to SCSO, the Subaru was heading east when the driver ran the light and crashed into a Honda that was heading south on McDonald. SCSO also said as a result of the crash, the Honda hit a Toyota that was heading north on McDonald, yielding to southbound traffic as the truck was waiting to turn west onto Sprague.

SCSO said the driver of the Honda sustained possible life-threatening injuries. There were two other passengers inside the Honda when the crash happened. According to SCSO, one passenger sustained life-threatening injuries and the other sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

SCSO said the driver of the truck had minor injuries.

The driver of the Subaru, later identified as 29-year-old Boddy S. Million Jr., was charged with five counts of vehicular assault and attempting to elude a law enforcement vehicle. Million was booked into the Spokane County Jail.

According to a verified GoFundMe account, 21-year-old Cole Reiner, who was in the Honda that was hit, is still in a coma as a result of the crash. According to GoFundMe, the GoFundMe was created by Reiner's mother's employer.
