Spokane police arrest suspect who allegedly tried to 'buy' girl in child luring case

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — A man who owns the truck that was identified in a Spokane child luring case has been arrested, police said on Sunday.

Spokane police said the man was questioned and arrested on an unrelated warrant. They also said the truck was seized and police are now just waiting for a search warrant.

Police responded to the area of Empire Avenue and Cincinnati Street around 3:00 p.m. about a report of a suspicious person, according to police.

The caller reported that their daughter was approached by a man and "offered her daughter $1000 dollars to buy her," according to police. After the caller's daughter told the suspect no, the male went to a different group of kids near Glass Park. 

The vehicle the suspect was in is a maroon Ford F-150 with Washington license plate C38119V. Police say there were two males in the truck.

In a release, SPD asked the public to come forward with any information about the vehicle or any suspicious encounters.

Activity on social media suggests that citizens may have interacted with or observed other suspicious behavior associated with the vehicle that has not been reported to law enforcement. SPD urges anyone witnessing suspicious behavior related to this case to please contact investigators.
