SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Police Department (SPD) is searching for a suspect who shot and injured someone near West Central Spokane.
According to SPD, officers responded to reports of a shooting Monday morning at a home on West Augusta Avenue and North Madison Street. Officers arriving at the home found a man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
According to SPD, the man who was shot called police and reported that he was shot by his mom's boyfriend. The man who was shot was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
SPD said it later learned that a witness heard two people arguing in the house, and the suspect allegedly fled in a truck following the shooting.
SPD said it found the truck, but the suspect is still at large at this time.
SPD said officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for first-degree assault DV and first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
SPD said this is an active, ongoing investigation.
