SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Police Department (SPD) says they are investigating two shootings that happened within three-and-a-half hours of each other in North Spokane on Monday.

According to SPD, officers responded to a call at 2:30 p.m. near Wilding Drive and  Fredericksburg Court. SPD said 911 was advised that shots were heard in the area and there was a red SUV that SPD said was possibly involved.

Officers were able to find shell casings, but SPD said no victims were called in or were located.

SPD then responded to a second shooting call at 6 p.m. near North Lacey Avenue and East Garden Avenue, finding a man with a minor head injury in the area.

The man was taken to the hospital, and medical providers were able to determine that the injury was not gunshot related.

Officers learned that a fight broke out when someone fired a gun, and SPD said a silver SUV fled the scene after the shooting and officers found a shell during their investigation.

Anyone with information on either shooting is asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233, reference numbers 2024-20141407 and 2024-20141478.
