Law enforcement arrests Holy Names Court shooting suspect

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Police Department (SPD) and other law enforcement agencies arrested a 17-year-old boy suspected of being connected to a shooting that happened near Holy Names Court last month.

SPD said an altercation took place in a parking lot near Holy Names Court in June when the 17-year-old fired several shots into a parked and occupied car, and one of the people inside the car was hit by a bullet.

SPD said the person hit by the gunfire was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

SPD said the car left to go to the hospital when the car was stopped by law enforcement.

SPD said on Friday, they got information about a possible location of the suspect. SPD said the teenage suspect was found near Northwest Boulevard and Alberta Street.

The teenager was taken into custody and was charged with three counts of first-degree assault with a firearm and one count of first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm. The teenager is being held at the Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center.
