Spokane police arrest suspect in arson that injured one and killed multiple pets

36-year-old Jenny K. Barden faces one count of first-degree attempted murder, six counts of first-degree assault and one count of first-degree arson.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane police and SWAT units have arrested the suspect wanted for attempted murder following a house fire in North Spokane on March 23.

According to SPD, 36-year-old Jenny K. Barden was surrounded in a home on the 3000 block of North Nelson after police received a tip from a community member regarding her whereabouts. Barden reportedly injured one person in the fire while endangering five others and killing multiple pets.

Barden surrendered to police and was taken into custody without incident. She was booked into the Spokane County Jail and faces one count of first-degree attempted murder, six counts of first-degree assault and one count of first-degree arson.
