Spokane County investigators searching for man who stole chainsaw from store on Highway 395

The suspect reportedly left the scene in a red Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck.

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Investigators with the Spokane County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) are seeking the public's help in locating a suspect who stole a chainsaw from a store on North Highway 395.

According to SCSO, the theft occurred on Feb. 19 around 3:45 p.m. An employee told deputies that a man entered the store, took a chainsaw and left without paying. The chainsaw the man reportedly stole is worth approximately $1,600.

Deputies said the man left in a red Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck, which did not appear to have a rear license plate at the time of the theft. Investigators added the man appears to have been accompanied by an unknown man and woman, but they separated after entering the store. Deputies are not sure if the two accompanying the suspect were involved in the crime.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect, the location of his truck or the theft in general can call SCIU Detective B. Humphrey at (509) 477-3028, reference #10025177.
