SPOKANE, Wash. — A 27-year-old man was arrested on Sunday afternoon after he reportedly fired two shots into the air at Riverfront Park.
Officers were able to detain and arrest the 27-year-old man very shortly after the shooting was reported. No one was injured and police believe there is no threat to the community.
Police responded to Riverfront Park at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Sunday. Multiple reports came in about shots being fired.
Officers arrived and said they found multiple casings just south of the Pavilion. Shortly after the casings were found, officers located and arrested the suspect, a 27-year-old man. Police say the man got into a verbal fight with another man, brought out his gun and fired two shots in the air.
The man was booked into the Spokane County Jail for two counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm and one count each of brandishing, reckless endangerment and carrying a firearm without a license.
The man has no prior criminal convictions.
