POST FALLS, Idaho — Two people were arrested following an auto burglary in Post Falls on Tuesday.
According to the Post Falls Police Department, officers were dispatched to North Lincoln Street and East 13th Avenue for reports of two people trying to break into a neighbor's car. Post Falls Police said one of the people ran away from police, but the minor was eventually arrested. Police arrested the second minor shortly after arresting the first suspect.
Post Falls Police said it learned that the two suspects were involved in recent auto burglaries in the area. Post Falls Police also said the suspects had stolen property, including a firearm, during the incident.
The two minors were arrested and booked into the juvenile detention center for burglary, possession of stolen property, criminal conspiracy, minor in possession of alcohol, minor in possession of tobacco and curfew violation.
Police said the minor who tried to flee from police was also arrested for resisting/obstructing. Police also said the other minor was booked for carrying a concealed weapon under the influence.
Police found another firearm after searching both minors' homes later in the day. Post Falls Police said additional charges are possible in the investigation.
