The Spokane County Sheriff's Office said the child died due to injuries allegedly sustained by his mother.

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Editor's Note: The video attached is from Monday, July 22, before the victim died.

A mother suspected of assaulting her five-month-old child has been arrested. The Spokane County Sheriff's Office is now reporting that the child has died due to injuries allegedly caused by his mother.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to reports of a baby who was asleep and possibly died at an apartment on East Mansfield Avenue off North Argonne Road (12800-block of East Mansfield Avenue) Sunday evening.

SCSO said arriving deputies saw first responders and paramedics giving CPR to the five-month-old child. SCSO said the child was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

SCSO said a deputy escorted the child's mother, 22-year-old Amlyann Harry, out of the home. The sheriff's office later established probable cause to charge her with first-degree assault of a child.

Harry was booked into the Spokane County Jail for the charge.

SCSO said this is an active investigation and charges will be amended due to the child's death.
