MOSES LAKE, Wash. — Moses Lake Police say they have arrested 27-year-old Isaiah Thomas in connection with the murder of his grandfather.

On November 3, authorities responded to the report of a deceased person in a shallow grave near Staley Road in Cascade Valley. Investigators traced the incident to a home on Dale Street in the Knolls Vista neighborhood in Moses Lake.

Moses Lake Police say information gathered at the scene led to the arrest of 27-year-old Isaiah Thomas who, police say, was charged with the murder of 75-year-old Richard Andrews.

Police say it appears the homicide took place at the Dale Street home where the suspect and the victim had been living together.

Moses Lake Police Detectives are leading the investigation in collaboration with Grant County Detectives. Detectives say that due to the scale of the investigation, the Washington State Patrol (WSP) Crime Lab was called to process both the scene in Cascade Valley and the Dale Street residence. WSP crime lab technicians are currently working at both locations and are expected to finish processing by late Tuesday night.

Moses Lake Police Detectives are requesting that anyone with information related to this case contact Det. Carter with the Moses Lake Police Department, 509-764-3887.
