SPOKANE, Wash. — A Moses Lake homicide suspect was arrested in California on Tuesday.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, the Moses Lake Police Department responded near Montlake Park in Grant County in November 2023 for reports of shots fired. One person was killed and two others were injured in what the marshal's service said appeared to be a gang-related shooting.

The marshal's service said several suspects were identified, but one person fled.

The marshal's service said they eventually found and arrested Christopher Valle-Maciel on Tuesday, August 6. Valle-Maciel was arrested in Riverside County, California.

The marshal's office said Valle-Maciel was a dangerous fugitive wanted out of Moses Lake.

Valle-Maciel was arrested for first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and first-degree drive-by shooting.

“Once again, cooperative efforts of local police agencies and U. S. Marshals Service led task forces have resulted in the arrest of a violent offender, who will now face justice and answer for alleged violent crimes in a court of law,” U.S. Marshal Craig Thayer said.
