Ordained minister arrested in Spokane for child molestation charges

SPOKANE, Wash. — A man was arrested for child molestation charges Friday morning.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Russell Anders was arrested by the Spokane County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshals Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force at his home on West Gardner Avenue near West Boone Avenue and North Ash Street at 11 a.m. Friday morning.

In a press release sent Friday afternoon, the U.S. Marshals noted that Anders was an ordained minister, but did not say if he had any ties to any local religious entities.

The U.S. Marshals Service said Anders had an outstanding federal arrest warrant, as he is accused of producing child pornography and possessing depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit content.

The U.S. Marshals Service also said Anders has pending cases out of Seattle for first-degree child molestation, sexual exploitation of a minor- exhibition of minor, first-degree possession of depictions of a minor engaged  in sexually explicit conduct and voyeurism.

Anders is facing second-degree rape and first-degree voyeurism charges in Spokane.
