SPOKANE, Wash. — A man was arrested after he tried to steal an ambulance in downtown Spokane Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Spokane Police Department (SPD), police responded to reports of a man trying to steal an ambulance near Washington and Sprague in downtown Spokane.

Police said when officers arrived at the location, they saw an ambulance with the driver's side window shattered. SPD said the ambulance was attending to a medical emergency call in the area when the man walked up and broke the window before entering it.

SPD said witnesses told police the man started to rev the engine before others helped remove the man. Officers learned the man was in a nearby bank and was escorted out after he got upset, later walking up to the ambulance and breaking the window.

Officers developed probable cause to arrest 29-year-old Joshua T.L Musselman for attempted vehicle theft and first-degree malicious mischief. Musselman was booked into the Spokane County Jail.
