SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane police said a man was able to escape an assault Wednesday after he was stabbed in the kneck with a hunting knife.
Around 7 p.m. Wednesday, Spokane police responded to a report of an assault near North Ash and West Heroy Avenue.
According to a press released from Spokane Police Sergeant Terry Preuninger, officers found the victim with blood on his face and shirt. The victim suffered a cut near his eye and a puncture wound to the neck. He was taken to Deaconess with non-life threatening injuries.
The victim told police he met up with a man and woman to inquire about a room for rent on Craigslist. The male and female sellers picked up the victim and drove to the apartment to see if he would like to rent the room. The victim inspected the apartment and said he didn't want to put a deposit down until he had a lease agreement.
Preuninger said the suspects offered the victim a ride home. During the trip, Preuninger said the victim and man were sitting in the backseat together. Then, the man stabbed the victim in the neck and they struggled over the weapon.
Preuninger said the victim was able to get control of the weapon, opened the car door and threw the knife out. He said the victim then grabbed his belongings, threw them out of the car and rolled out. The victim then got out of the roadway and attempted to flag down a vehicles for assistance.
The male suspect is described as 27-years-old, 5'7" tall, over 300 punds, light brown or possibly blue eyes, a shaved head with a blonde/reddish beard. HE was wearing a black athletic shirt, dark cotton t-shirt, grey sweater, dirty blue jeans, black boots and a plain black baseball hat.
The femal suspect is described as 23-years-old, thin build, round head, dark large eyes, and shaved sides of her head with purple/maroon dreadlocks on top. She was wearing a lot of makeup and had a piercing near her mouth.
