SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — The Spokane County Sheriff's Office has arrested a suspect after a man was found dead at the Red Top Motel on Saturday, June 10.
According to SCSO, Major Crimes detectives determined the man's death as a homicide and identified 48-year-old Michael R. Perry as the suspect. Probable cause was established to arrest Perry, as he was taken into custody around 8:45 p.m. the same night on N. Waterworks Street.
Perry is currently booked in the Spokane County Jail, charged with second-degree murder.
Spokane Valley Major Crimes Detectives responded to a report of a dead man at the Red Top Motel at approximately 1:40 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. When they arrived, they found a man in one of the motel rooms and confirmed he was dead.
It is currently not known what happened leading up to the man's death.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner will release the identity of the man, as well as the cause and manner of his death, at a later date.
