Moscow Police arrests inmate who walked away from University of Idaho's campus on Tuesday

Police say anyone in the Theophilus Tower must leave immediately.

MOSCOW, Idaho — The Moscow Police Department said they found an Idaho Department of Corrections inmate who walked away from a job site at the University of Idaho's campus on Tuesday.

Moscow Police were near the Theophilus Tower on campus looking for the inmate, asking anyone inside the tower to leave immediately as they investigated the area. People can now return to the tower.

Moscow Police identified 34-year-old Wayland Savage as the man suspected of leaving the job site. Police said Savage, who is in prison for burglary and grand theft, is 6-feet-2-inches tall and was last seen wearing dark pants and a black T-shirt.

Police also said anyone with information on where Savage is should contact the Moscow Police Department at 208-882-COPS (2677).

Savage was taken into custody Tuesday evening.
