Hayden, Idaho man sentenced to 10 years in prison for lewd conduct with a minor under 16 years old

KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho — A Hayden, Idaho, man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for lewd conduct with a minor under the age of 16.

According to the Kootenai County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, 73-year-old David Allen Ihle was convicted of lewd conduct with a minor under 16. According to the prosecuting attorney's office, Ihle engaged in "manual-genital contact" with a child who was nine-10 years old at the time.

According to the prosecuting attorney's office, the state said Ihle engaged in "repeated grooming behavior with the child, minimized his accountability by claiming he accidentally found himself touching the child’s bare genitals, and continued to pose a threat to society despite his old age."

The judge sentenced the 73-year-old to 10 years in prison with parole eligibility after three years.

The prosecuting attorney's office said lhle's charge is a felony punishable by up to life in prison.
