KOOTENAI COUNTY-- A former bailiff at the Kootenai county courthouse is charged with sex crimes with a minor.
Jack McPike was arrested last month and is still in jail.
Jack McPike is accused of several felonies with a child family member.
Court records show he repeatedly performed oral sex on a girl from 2006 through 2008. The sexual acts started when the girl was 8-year-old. Investigators say McPike also fondled the girl, and would climb into the victim's bed naked.
His charges are sexual crimes against nature, two counts of lewd conduct with a child under 16, and two counts of child sexual abuse of a child under 16 years of age.
Records show the victim reported these events at her school last month.
McPike was in the bailiff training program at the Kootenai county courthouse.
McPike's supervisor said he passed background checks when he was hired. He was fired on May 17th, the same day he was arrested.
Records show McPike told his victim to not tell police because he would go to jail for along time.
County prosecutor Barry McCue said just one of the charges, could carry a life sentence.
McPike is scheduled to be back in court Friday.
