SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — A former Martin Hall Juvenile Corrections Facility employee has been arrested for allegedly assaulting an underaged detainee.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff's Office (SCSO), 40-year-old Antwon D. Jones reportedly violated policy while transporting a 15-year-old girl back to Martin Hall following an off-site appointment in January.
After an internal investigation, the facility fired Jones on Feb. 7. Days later, another employee at the facility called the sheriff's office and reported the violation as a possible sexual assault.
Investigators were able to develop probable cause to charge Jones with third-degree rape of a child and first-degree custodial sexual misconduct through interviews and collecting evidence.
On February 29, Jones was arrested following a follow-up interview with investigators. He has been booked into the Spokane County Jail.
After appearing in court March 1, a judge set his bond at $150,000. SCSO deputies said the investigation remains active at this time.
