Spokane Police investigating deadly motorcycle crash near Corbin Park

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Police Department (SPD) is investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that happened last week near Corbin Park.

According to SPD, police responded to reports of a vehicle crash involving a motorcycle near Division Street and Waverly Place on Wednesday, September 18 at around 6:15 p.m. 

Arriving officers found a motorcycle on the road with the driver on the ground nearby. SPD said the motorcycle was south of Bridgeport when it hit another vehicle.

Police said the motorcyclist died at the scene.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner identified 19-year-old Jonathan Lew as the person who died in the crash. The medical examiner said the cause of Lew's death was blunt force injuries, and the manner of his death was an accident.

SPD said speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
