Clarkston man accused of creating detailed plan to kill judge, others involved in court proceedings

Trevor Lunney is charged with intimidation of a judge and four counts of harassment against local officials. He could face up to 30 years in prison if found guilty.

ASOTIN COUNTY, Wash. — A Clarkston man is facing up to 30 years in prison for allegedly sharing detailed plans to kill an Asotin County judge with his cellmate.

According to Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson, Trevor Lunney is charged with intimidation of a judge and four counts of harassment against local officials. The charges stem from Lunney's alleged plans to kill multiple people involved in his criminal proceedings. If convicted, Lunney could face ten years in prison for intimidating a judge, and five years for each felony harassment count.

According to court documents, Lunney was being held in the Asotin County Jail for allegedly threatening to "shoot up" an elementary school and a county fair parade. He pleaded guilty to making a bomb threat and two counts of harassment.

While in jail, court documents state Lunney told another inmate that he wanted to harm multiple people. The inmate said Lunney told him about "detailed plans" to kill the Asotin County judge who presided over his bomb threat case, the judge's dog, the county prosecutor who handled his case, a city councilor and a jail guard.

The inmate said Lunney plans included following some of his targets to their houses, and "a unique courthouse invasion." Documents said Lunney also planned to have other people lace the food of some of the targets with fentanyl.

The Attorney General’s Criminal Justice Division is prosecuting the case.
