DEER PARK, Wash. — The Spokane County Medical Examiner has revealed the identity of the child rape suspect who was shot and killed by Spokane County deputies after a standoff in Deer Park last week.

The suspect, 43-year-old Donald Hagel, was shot and killed during a standoff that took place at a home within the area of 30300 North Monroe Road. Stevens County deputies were serving an arrest warrant after Hagel  failed to appear for a court date.

During the standoff, the suspect stood on the front porch of the home for several hours talking with negotiators, but eventually barricaded himself inside the home. This prompted Stevens County deputies to call for assistance from the Spokane County Sheriff's Office. According to deputies, members of SWAT developed probable cause to breach the suspect's home before shots were fired.

The three deputies involved in the shooting have also been identified as of April 5. They are Deputy Josiah Loos, Detective Samuel Turner and Detective Travis West
