Airway Heights police searching for men suspected of shooting BB gun at children

Police say anyone in the area with cameras during the incident are asked to check them and report to police if they see anything.

AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — The Airway Heights Police Department is searching for two men suspected of shooting children with a BB gun Wednesday afternoon.

According to the police department, they, along with the Spokane County Sheriff's Office and Kalispel Tribal Police, responded to reports of a shooting near Sunset Park in the area of South Lawson Street and West 8th Avenue. 

Airway Heights Police said callers told them that two black men with white ski masks were driving a red Nissan Altima/Maxima with a possible out-of-state plate when they shot people, including children, with a BB gun.

The police department is asking anyone with home surveillance footage who lives on South Horton Street/West 4th Avenue or South Lawson Street between West 8th Avenue and West 6th Avenue to check your cameras between 12:57 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3.
