SPOKANE, Wash. — An Airway Heights woman was arrested Thursday for allegedly murdering a four-month-old infant she nannied for.
Sharon Arger, 59, was arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail for second-degree murder. The charges stem from the murder of a four-month-old infant that occurred last year. According to police, the baby was in Arger's care at the time of his death.
On Nov. 2, 2023, Airway Heights police officers responded to a report of an unconscious infant. The four-month-old was reportedly being watched by Arger at the time the call was made. Police, Airway Heights Fire medics and AMR provided lifesaving measures on the baby before rushing him to the hospital.
The baby remained on life support until he passed away on Nov. 8, 2023, according to police. His death was ruled a homicide on March 19 of this year.
A warrant was issued for Arger's arrest and she was taken into custody on Thursday. Police did not share any information on how they determined Arger was a suspect in the infant's death.
Police said they will not release anymore information at this time.
