SPOKANE, Wash. — A 32-year-old Spokane man was sentenced to over 22 years in prison after investigators found around 25 pounds of fentanyl, along with other drugs, at a motel in Spokane Valley.

According to the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington's office, Jordy Scott Deboer and Matthew Sailors were arrested after the FBI's Safe Street Task Force found drugs at the Motel 6 in Spokane Valley.

Investigators seized around 24.7 pounds (83,000) of fentanyl-laced pills, two pounds of methamphetamine, one pound of cocaine, two firearms and $13,000 in U.S. currency.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said Deboer was previously arrested and federally indicted for trafficking meth and fentanyl pills from the Tri-Cities to Spokane, where he was released from federal custody after his indictment to go to inpatient drug treatment.

According to court documents and the U.S. Attorney General's Office, investigators learned that Deboer re-engaged with drug trafficking activities after he was released with Sailors. The two were found at the Motel 6 in Spokane Valley taking part in drug-trafficking activities.

Deboer pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of actual (pure) methamphetamine and one count of possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl. Deboer was sentenced to 272 months in prison that will be followed by five years of supervised release.

Sailors pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing fentanyl in September 2023. A few months later in December, Sailors was sentenced to 10 years in prison that will be followed by five years of supervised release.
