SPOKANE, Wash --- Former Eastern Washington University football player Cooper Kupp signed a four year $3.8 million contract this week.

Wide Receiver Cooper Kupp was the 69th selection of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. The third-round pick signed his contract earlier this week, it has almost $1 million guaranteed, according to overthecap.com.

Kupp was very excited that he is getting the opportunity to play for the LA Rams.

"This is incredible. One, my wife loves it down here. I trained down here in Irvine. She loves it down here in SoCal — loves soaking up the sun. So, ‘Happy wife, happy life.’ So that’s a good thing for me already. And just to be a part of this program, guys that I grew up watching — Torry Holt, Isaac Bruce, Kurt Warner, some of these guys who were just incredible football players. And now being able to be a part of this organization is an incredible feeling," said Kupp, reported by therams.com.

Kupp was a record breaking receiver for the EWU Eagles who set many Football Championship Subdivision records during his college career. He holds the record for most total receptions (428), most receiving yards (6,464) and most receiving touchdowns (73).

The Rams do not have a lot of good receiving options right now, with Robert Woods and Tavon Austin providing the most experience, so Kupp could get a chance to play early in his career.

The LA Rams website also said Kupp stood out at his position during the Organized Team Activities earlier this year and was also impressive during their offseason minicamp.
