Meals on Wheels Spokane in need of fans donations to help keep seniors safe

The nonprofit is in need of 200 new fans to keep their seniors safe and cool from the pressing heat of summer.

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Meals on Wheels Spokane is in need of 200 new fans to keep seniors cool and safe this summer as temperatures are rising quickly.

The Meals on Wheels Spokane program has been delivering meals to elderly, homebound seniors in Spokane since 1967. It is the only program in Washington to also have a senior center attached to its facility.

People can donate a new fan for a Spokane senior in two ways:

1. Dropping it off at the Meals on Wheels Spokane office, located at 1222 W. 2nd Avenue. The office is open from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

2. Order a fan from Amazon and have it shipped to the Meals on Wheels Spokane office.

The office is also accepting monetary donations. Visit the Meals on Wheels Spokane office here.
