'I want answers': Mother takes son's death investigation into her own hands

Her 16-year-old son was shot and killed in Auburn in July, but so far, no one was been held accountable for his death.

AUBURN, Wash. — The mom of a teenage boy shot and killed in Auburn is taking the investigation into her own hands. It’s been two months since 16-year-old Xavier Landry was murdered and today his Mother, Lonnisha Landry is fighting to get her son’s killer behind bars.

“I’m still just lost with no answers, and I want answers,” said Landry as she walked from businesses to business near A street Southeast and State Route 18 in Auburn.

On July 12, two months ago, her son 16-year-old Xavier Landry was shot and killed outside a gas station in Auburn. Police say the case is still open and there is a detective assigned but to date have no one behind bars.

“I haven’t had a day without being able to cry for my son because he didn’t deserve it and so today was like, a huge thing for me to get out here and let people see that I’m literally doing the work for my son,” Landry said.

She hopes that a mom's love may prompt tips that lead to the arrest of her son’s killer – someone she fears may be a fellow teenager. It's tough work that she’s not doing alone.

“Today I pray that something is done to find these murderers, and I want them called for what they are they’re murderers, vicious murderers,” said Jacqualine Boles, a family member of Landry.

“I’m grateful for it but I feel like she shouldn’t have to do it. I feel like there should be more people pulling together and stepping up, more law enforcement," said Lawrence C Boles, another family member added. "There should be hundreds of people walking these streets right now."

For now what they lack in number, this mom makes up for in drive – she’s determined to land the person behind her son's killing behind bars.
