SPOKANE, Wash. – Amazon has now posted a total of 23 job listings for the Spokane fulfillment center on its website.
This comes as Amazon had more than 37,000 job listings around the world posted to its website just last week, according to The Seattle Times. A company spokesperson told The Seattle Times that this is the most listings Amazon had posted to its career site in at least 15 months and it may be the most ever.
Jobs at the Spokane fulfillment center, located off Geiger Boulevard near the Spokane International Airport, make up a small portion of those listings.
The latest job listing for a Lead Fulfillment Associate was posted to the Amazon website on Feb. 12, 2020. A listing for Construction Manager was posted nearly one week earlier.
Another job listing for Area Manager was posted on Jan. 2.
The available jobs range from corporate functions such as human resources, fulfillment and operations management, and IT services.
An Amazon spokesperson said on Monday that he could not provide a timeline for when the employees would begin work, adding that the position would stay open until they are filled.
The company is expected to begin the full-scale hiring process for the majority of positions one to two months before the center launches.
Amazon representatives have not yet been able to provide an opening date, but they say the center is expected to create more than 1,500 full-time jobs.
In 2019, Amazon said all employees at the center will make at least $15 an hour along with full health, dental and vision benefits, a 401k with 50 percent match, and 20 weeks paid parental leave.
An Amazon spokesperson told KREM in November 2019 that the fulfillment center would open by mid-2020.
They added that a center typically launches about 1.5 to 2 years after the initial building announcement. The fulfillment center was announced in July 2018.
Amazon hasn't confirmed if the fulfillment center will provide Spokane with same-day or two-hour delivery. Spokane's facility will mostly house small items, according to an Amazon spokesperson.
Once the center is finished, it will be the biggest building in eastern Washington.
